The Central Coast Education Networks Pilot Project is an Economic Development initiative led by the Central Coast Council. This pilot has been designed to test and validate a collaborative model that brings together education, industry and government. The aim is to support frontline teachers in connecting young people with the Coast, its industries, and the career opportunities that will shape both their and the region’s future.
The cities, towns, and regions that will thrive—socially and economically—in a rapidly changing world will be those that actively engage the next generation. This involves collaborating with young people on their transition from education to career, and supporting their development into active and capable citizens.
Teachers do the heavy lifting when it comes to preparing young people for the future. As frontline stakeholders, their insight and effort are critical. Central Coast Education Networks recognises this, and this pilot is designed to support—not add to—their workload. We value their expertise and are committed to working alongside them.
Local businesses and industries understand the importance of helping young people connect with the career pathways available on the Central Coast. The pilot project is about making it easier for them to get involved—offering simple, meaningful ways to share their knowledge, contribute to classroom learning, and see the value of being part of a connected education network.
While this groundwork is underway, we invite teachers and schools across the Central Coast to learn more about how we plan to support them. More importantly, we’re asking educators to help shape the direction—by telling us which learning resources, experiences, and professional development opportunities should be prioritised.
For local businesses and industries, stay connected. If this pilot proves successful, we’ll be looking to expand the network—and we want you involved. Future stages will showcase your business, highlight career pathways, and help you start building authentic connections with your future workforce and suppliers.
Together, we can help young people build the knowledge, skills, and confidence to thrive—now and into the future—right here on the Coast.
